Services We Provide
Support
We provide support and information over the phone, by email, and in person to survivors of rape and sexual abuse and to their families friends and whanau.
We have resources and information packs available and a comprehensive library service.
No appointments are necessary. Our drop-in support hours are 9.30am-4pm Monday to Friday.
Counselling
We currently have three ACC funded counsellors available at no charge to survivors of rape and/or sexual abuse. Our counsellors are specialised in this area. They are ACC registered, and are members of NZAC and NZAP.
Advocacy
We are available to work alongside you in your liaison with organisations such as the police, ACC, WINZ, the courts, and medical professionals.
Referral
We have strong links with other service providers in Wellington, and a broad knowledge base about Wellington's social services. If we are not the most appropriate service provider for you, we are happy to refer you to another agency. We are always happy to let you know the service options that are available to you.
Education
Wellington Rape Crisis believes that education is a vital tool in the prevention of rape and sexual abuse.
We have been providing community education in the Wellington region for nearly 30 years. We are available to do workshops and/or seminars on rape and sexual abuse.
We offer a comprehensive prevention education programme that has been designed specifically for young people, that is available to Wellington Secondary schools.
